The girls lacrosse team had a chance to show their rivals a few tricks of the trade.
Last Tuesday, the Wolves tied their game with Lake Orion, 5-5.
For Clarkston girls, it was a chance to play a new team and show them some moves. For Lake Orion, it was the second game of their first season.
‘They knew that the team was new,? said Clarkston Coach Kaitlyn Sitar. ‘They were ready to show them how they play as a team. It was our best game yet. They had a lot of energy and for the most part we held onto the ball for most of the game.?
Lake Orion had just come back from spring break to compete against the Wolves.
‘They did amazingly well,? said Lake Orion Coach Debbie Booth. ‘Those teams are good. I think it was pretty even match. I think they all played well, Clarkston and Lake Orion. We were proud of our girls. Every game is a learning experience, they definitely picked up different things and what different players did.?
Jenica Dabrowski scored the first goal for the Wolves within the first ten seconds of the game.
Lake Orion led the game after scoring two goals.
The Wolves responded by putting some pressure on the Dragons. They scored four goals in a span of seven minutes, putting themselves into the lead.
Mickayla Meola scored two goals in that time and had one assist. Andrea Kovacic and Jessie Craig added two for the Wolves.
As the end of the first half grew closer, Lake Orion scored two more goals and were one point behind when the buzzer sounded for half-time.
With less than eight minutes left in the game, Ronnie Booth tied the score for the Dragons. It was her third goal of the game.
Clarkston’s defense blocked Lake Orion from getting one more shot in the net as the last minute counted down.
‘Kovacic and Meola had outstanding games,? said Sitar. ‘They were quick on the field very good at their catching and passing of the ball.?
The girls varsity lost to Troy Athens, 17-1. They travel to Lasher High School on Wednesday to play Bloomfield United. For the league game they are ready for it to be competitive as they seek their first win.
The girls record is 0-1-4.

On Monday, girls lacrosse hosts Carman-Ainsworth. JV begins at 6:30 p.m., varsity follows.
