Team 302, the Lake Orion High School robotics squad, is gearing up for the National Championship in Atlanta from April 17-19.
Last month, the Dragons competed at two regional competitions.
At the Detroit Regional, held at Wayne State University March 13-15, Team 302 finished 15th overall and were quarter finalists.
The team attended the West Michigan Regional from March 20-22, held at Grand Valley State University, where the Dragons were Regional Finalists alongside companions Team 141 from Holland; Team 33 from Auburn Hills, also sponsored by The Chrysler Foundation; and Team 1677 from Kalamazoo. The Dragons were also recognized for their safe habits at the competition and rewarded with safety pins.
Senior and four-year member of Team 302, Heather Wilsher, said the team would like to thank their lead sponsor, the Chrysler Foundation, for their continued support throughout the season.
‘Also, the numerous local businesses have been a huge help in our goal to attend the Championship Event,? she added. ‘The Dragons would like to thank everyone in the community who have supported us.?
