The North Oakland Concert Band will perform this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Lake Orion High School auditorium.
The donations received from this concert will be given to Orion Township to assist in funding the new amphitheater to be built in the Orion area.
In addition to pieces by Percy Grainger, John Philip Sousa and John Williams, this concert will feature the principal oboe player, Steven Landino, playing the Mozart Oboe Concerto.?
Landino has been a member of this group for five years.’In addition to playing in the NOCB and other community ensembles, he is a member of the Lake St. Clair Symphony Orchestra and several chamber music groups in the area.
Other? pieces to be performed in this concert include ‘With Pleasure,? a rag by John Philip Sousa; ‘Nr. 1 Colonial Song,? by Percy Aldridge Grainger; and a programmatic piece, ‘To Tame the Perilous Skies,? by David Holsinger.
