A 43-year-old Brandon Township man was sentenced to 20 months to 10 years in prison after his fifth arrest for drunk driving.
Bobby Ray Christian was sentenced Nov. 1 by Sixth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Michael D. Warren, Jr. after he pleaded guilty last month to operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, driving while license suspended, second offense, and felony habitual offender, third offense.
According to police reports, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to investigate a driver who was possibly driving while intoxicated on Oct. 1. The deputy located Christian driving erratically and pulled him over on M-15 south of Allen Road, after observing him weaving across the road. Christian said he’d had six beers and had also smoked crack. A preliminary breathalyzer test on Christian had results of .187 percent blood alcohol content. A LEIN check showed he had four previous arrests for drunk driving dating back to 1998.
