Goodrich- Genesys Hospice is asking locals to get a little crafty in helping them raise funds.
The first of what is planned to become an annual craft show and fund fair to is slated to take place 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on May 19 and 20 on the grounds of the Care Center, 7280 S. State Road in Goodrich.
‘This is the only way we are able to help our patients directly,? said Volunteer Coordinator Loraine Travis. ‘Because we are non-profit, we really count on the community to help us.?
The fair is being sponsored by volunteers of Genesys Hospice to raise money for the Patient Activities Fund with all proceeds directly benefitting patients and their families.
Approximately 60 vendors are planning to participate in the event, and children’s activities scheduled include a petting zoo, face painting; and sidewalk art.
Travis encourages residents to turn out in support of their local hospice.
‘Every aspect is volunteer-sponsored,? said Travis. ‘It’s going to be a lot of fun.?
Craft show
The annual ‘Gifted Hands Craft Show? will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Goodrich United Methodist Church, 8071 S. State Road (M-15). Unique items will include antique sleds, scarves, pottery, garden art, and baked goods. All proceeds from this event will support missions both here and abroad. Details: (810) 636-2444.
