Christmas in Hadley

Hadley- Christmas will come early with a European flair this year.
In its debut season, the Christkindl Market will bring a European style Christmas fair to downtown Hadley Dec. 15 and 16.
Organizer Lee Livingston said she was inspired to bring the event to the area after seeing Christmas fairs while traveling throughout Europe.
‘It’s based on the old- world French and European Christmas fairs,? said Livingston.
The event will kick off with caroling and a candlelight walk through the streets at 7 p.m. on Dec.15.
Following the walk, there will be a live nativity outside Hadley Community Church 3638 Hadley Road, with various Christmas items inside the church.
Festivities continue beginning at 10 a.m. Dec. 16, with various artisans, vendors and Father Christmas himself in the Old Town Hall.
‘We will have also have a ‘Children’s Only Shop?, where children can buy presents for friends and family (and) all the gifts will be $2 and under,? said Livingston.
There will be a number of one-of-a-kind arts and crafts for shoppers looking for a unique gifts, added Livingston.
Additionally, The Parlor, 3527 Hadley Road, will be selling commemorative mugs.
‘We just have a couple really neat touches,? said Livingston.
