The second annual Goodrich/Atlas Chamber of Commerce sponsored Good Times in Goodrich festival will take place on Sept. 16 in the Goodrich Commons park at M-15 and Hegel Road.
Events include live entertainment, Beat on the Street 5K run, business expo, craft fair and robotics demonstrations.
‘It’s just an opportunity for community members to come out and meet each other and have some fun while doing it,? said Doug Tetmeyer, president of the Goodrich Chamber of Commerce. ‘We highlight local businesses to a certain extent, but mostly it’s just to help and strengthen the community.?
Tetmeyer is the director of the Beat on the Street 5K race. Both the racers and walkers will start at the pavilion in the park.
‘It’s a good chance to see neighbors and a great way to kick-off the school year,? said Tetmeyer.
‘We have a whole weekend of fun planned for Goodrich,? said Ann Hutchins, organizer of this year’s festival.
Hutchins said one noticeable difference between this and previous GTIG festivals will be more centralized location, with a majority of the events taking place in the park.
‘We polled people last year for feedback,? said Hutchins. ‘People wanted it more condensed. I think it will be very conducive to being a little more relaxing if you’re a parent? you can kind of do whatever you want and keep a pretty good eye on your kid. Hopefully people will be pleased with that change.?
