Books on parade

Paint Creek Elementary School had books coming alive, and a chance to get a peek at China, Egypt, Italy and other countries on March 24, as students finished March Reading Month with a Book Parade and a Trip Around the World.
Grades K-2 dressed up as their favorite book characters and were led in a parade by Paint Creek Principal Bev Tepper, who dressed up as the Cat in the Hat.
Third-fifth graders transformed their classroom into faraway places, offering history and culture from countries across the globe.
Throughout the month of March, the students took part in a variety of activities, including a Green Eggs and Ham breakfast, a Dr. Seuss Salute Musical, a school-wide read-in, and getting read to by a mystery reader.
