Orion Township is in the planning stages of rebuilding Fire Station #3 in Gingellville.
The green building currently housing the station was erected in the 1970s, and is located at 3365 Gregory Road, near Baldwin Road.
‘It’s our next big project,? said Fire Chief Jeff Key, who said budgeting for the project has already begun, but the actual construction is still many months away.
The most likely destination for the new Gingellville fire station would be across Baldwin, and would include a portion of property where the former Proper School currently sits, Key said.
The purchase of this property is being considered by the Board of Trustees.
The Township is currently completing construction of Station #4 on Baldwin, located just north of Clarkston Road near Friendship Park.
