Firefighter promoted

Atlas Twp.-Bill Parker, a firefighter with ATFD for more than four years, has been promoted to the position of training instructor.
Prior to working at the ATFD, Parker worked for six years at a fire department in Villa Park, a suburb of Chicago.
Parker, a Goodrich resident, said he is a firefighter one and firefighter two certified instructor, Genesee County haz-mat team member, OSHA outreach trainer, Michigan urban search and rescue team, certified C.P.R. instructor and American Heart Association certified B.L.S. instructor.
Parker said he looks forward to using those skills and his experience to educate and train the firefighters of Atlas Township.

ATFD has also had the addition Brad Blaker. Blaker, 37, is an emergency room doctor at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac who is fully trained and has all of his credentials.
