Forty-five area artists and over 100 pieces of art have helped make the Orion Art Center’s 2006 All Media Show the largest show to date for the center.
According to OAC Executive Director Reggie Harrison, the high quantity is just as good in terms of quality.
‘It’s all high-quality work,? she said, ‘Which shows that our area is so lucky to have such great artists.?
Harrison said that the work comes from artists all over the tri-county area.
The pieces are on display at the OAC through the end of March. They will be relocated to the library for the month of April.
Regular hours for the OAC are Tues.-Fri., from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., or by appointment.
At the show’s opening reception on March 1, the OAC awarded $750 in cash prizes. The show was juried by Lisa Konikow, Art Director for Arts, Beats and Eats.
Dorothy Sedlock won Best of Show, while H. Clay Dodson, William Hunter and Elaine Darbee were awarded First, Second and Third Place prizes, respectively. Michael Rachuy and Tracy Nara received Honorable Mentions.
