Oxford’s Competitive Cheer Team may have come out in 6th place at last Saturdays Oxford Cheer Invitational at the high school, but coach Alanna Stockley isn’t deterred.
‘I can’t ask anymore from the girls because they’re getting better every day,? she said.
The team scored 169.5 in the first round, 178.2 in second and 224.5 in third and competed against nine other teams like Lake Orion, Troy Athens and Chesaning.
Basic cheer routines, stunting and high spirits got the gym roaring with proud parents and fans.
Stockley said the team is still working with a couple of injured girls and hopes tonight’s Flint-Metro League competition at the high school will see even better results.
