The Dragons have their second district varsity boys soccer title in Division I in three years, and played in the opening round of the regional competition on Nov. 1 in Grand Blanc.
On Oct. 25, Lake Orion began their post-season playing against Pontiac Northern in the first round of district competition.
The Dragons took that game, 10-0, before it was called on the mercy rule.
Michael Zach scored four goals for Lake Orion, and had two assists.
Other scorers for the team were: Kevin Bowen, AJ Pratt, Tim Stonerock, Bim Ogunyemi, Chris Ohlgart and Sebby Harris.
Ryan King had his 12th shutout of the season in the net for the Dragons.
Lake Orion took on Troy for the semi-final game on Oct. 27, winning again, 4-1.
Ohlgart had two goals, while Gramme Doyle and Zach scored a goal a piece.
Mark Thompson had two assists for the Dragons, and Stonerock had one. King had seven saves.
Lake Orion met Rochester Adams in the district final on Oct. 29, dominating 3-2.
The team’s record advanced to 15-3-4 in OAA I, after they trailed 1-0 to Adams at the half.
Zach scored a goal in the second half, as well as Ogenyemi, bringing the Dragons up to a 2-1 lead, before Zach put away the team’s final goal.
Lake Orion played against the Midland Dow winner in the regional on Tuesday (results not available at press time).
