Trial by fire continues for kickers

A strong presence on defense has eluded Clarkston’s soccer team so far; and with approximately half the season behind them, the Wolves are saddled with a 3-8-1(1-4-1) record.
‘We are our own worst enemy,? Clarkston Coach Mark Whitcomb said.
On Sept. 24, Clarkston lost 4-3 to Holly in a game where the Wolves fell behind early and could not muster enough offense to come back in the second half.
The loss to Holly stung especially hard as the Wolves needed a victory after losing 6-2 to Lake Orion on Sept. 20.
Senior Forward Joel Parrish scored one goal against Lake Orion and two scores against Holly. Parrish leads the team in goals scored with four in Clarkston’s last four games.
Senior Frank Davis also scored against Lake Orion and senior Gregg Knappe added a tally against Holly.
Clarkston’s game against Rochester at home on Sept. 22 was rescheduled to Oct. 20 due to lightning.
The Wolves match-up with Rochester Adams on Sept. 27 finished too late for this edition of The Clarkston News. Next up for Clarkston is Troy Athens at home on Sept. 29.
