Soccer season ends on sour note

The Clarkston girls soccer season came to an end May 31 as Davison held onto a 1-0 lead to advance to the next round of the district tournament.
The goal came two minutes into the game on a penalty kick after Clarkston was whistled for a hand ball inside their own box.
The loss marked the fifth straight game in which Clarkston failed to register a goal.
On the bright side of things, Clarkston goalie Emily Pierce posted a 2.10 goals against average with five shutouts.
While Clarkston will lose seniors Taylor Hosner, Amanda Henderson, Emily Munchiando, Jenna Przybycien, Lauren Smith and Amanda Leach to graduation, Pierce will headline a hopefully strong core next year. Sophomore Laura Gabriel, Junior Nikki Whiteford and junior Marie Timm all drew praise from first year coach Annette Richardson and are eligible to return next year.
