Swing into McCarty’s Golf Center for Father’s Day shopping

Atlas Twp. – McCarty’s Golf Center retail store opened April 30.
Owners Matthew and Rhonda McCarty expect to open a 240-foot driving range this month, and are currently interviewing golf pro candidates.
The 2,500 square foot store sells clubs and accessories by TaylorMade, Callaway, Cleveland, Orlimar, and more, featuring men’s apparel by Slazenger, and unique women’s apparel by Nike and Ashworth. Look for water bottles, visors, ball retrievers, buckets of foam balls, shoes, gloves, Michigan and Michigan State bags, and Black Widow spikes.
With Father’s Day just around the corner, families can shop for golf-themed artwork and photographs, along with novelty barbecue utensil sets, office, home, and garden golf decor.
Club head covers of golfers? favorite celebrities are in stock, along with covers geared to the sportsman or animal lover. Women aren’t overlooked in the selection either, and three children’s golf sets are also available.
Gift certificates are available in any denomination, and all merchandise can be tried out, says Rhonda, who encourages customers to request items they may not see. Customers are expressing relief at not having to pay higher prices for friendly personal service and the convenience of shopping locally.
The driving range will feature natural and artificial driving range tees with watered turf that won’t ‘brown out?, a large bucket of balls for $7, and range memberships, pro-rated this season. Memberships include store discounts.
Both Matt and Rhonda have degrees in business. Matt has gained much golf experience working for King Par’s wholesale division, although McCarty’s is not affiliated with King Par.
The golf center is a dream the couple has pursued through faith in God, says Matt, who is the son of the late Jerry McCarty, a Goodrich coach, teacher, and principal.
They plan to be active with local schools and youth, say the McCartys, who both enjoy coaching children.
