Goodrich track dominates in league matchup against Montrose, Atherton

Both the Goodrich boys and girls track teams are rolling along in Genesee Area Conference action.
The Goodrich boys track team soundly defeated Montrose 104-33 and Atherton 112-25 in a April 19 league meet., while the girls team defeated Atherton 126-11 and Montrose 118-14.
In field events, the Martian boys took first in two categories, with Jeff Decator winning the long jump (19?11-1/2?) and Joe Leppek winning the pole vault (12?).
Goodrich also took first in three relay events, winning at the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter relays
Charlie Richards also took first place in the 100 hurdles (16.0) and the 300 hurdles (41.4).
Decator won the 200 meter run (22.9), while Wayne Coulman won the 400 meters (52.6) and Ben Richards won both the 800 meters (2:08) and the 1600 meters (4:50).
Meanwhile, the Goodrich girls took four out of five field events, with Andrea Howell taking two of those events: the shot put (30?9?) and the discus (105?6?). Kortni Elsworth won the long jump with a jump of 15?9?, while Michelle Elliott tied for first in the high jump (5?).
Elsworth and Elliott each won one other event, with Elsworth capturing the 100 meters (13.5) and Elliott winning the 100 meter hurdles (16.2).
The Martians also dominated the relay events, winning the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 meter relays.
Janee Jones took first place in the 400 meters (1:02) and 1600 meters (5:06), while Kayla O’Mara took first in the 800 meters (2:30.2) and the 3200 meters (12:09). Melissa Luttrell won the 200 meters (28.2).
