The bank was started by its parent company – Clarkston Financial Corporation, which was incorporated on May 18, 1998 by eight north Oakland County businessmen: Ed Adler, Lou Beer, Bill Clark, Chuck Fortinberry, the late David Harrison, Bruce McIntyre, the late Robert Olsen and John Welker.
