Even though Clairmount Cleaners opened nearly a year ago, many people don’t realize all the services provided.
‘We do everything from getting the mud out of hunting suits to cleaning and pressing prom dresses,? said Erica Bowles, co-owner. ‘Many people think of a dry cleaner as just the spot a to take your suits and dresses after a wedding or a funeral but, we clean the everyday items as well, such as jeans and sweatshirts.?
Located at 440 M-15 in Ortonville Clarimount Cleaners offers a wide variety of cleaning services designed for customers, ‘with busy lifestyles.?
‘It’s much easier and time-saving to drop off clothes to be cleaned and pressed.?
While cleaning time may be a factor for some customers, Clairmount Cleaners, a family owned business also provides specialized cleaning for any sized load.
‘Our industrial sized washing and drying machines can do the bulky items like sleeping bags and snow suits that may not fit into your home machines,? said Phil Bowles, Erica’s husband and co-owner.
Phil, has worked at the main plant in Berkley since he was 14 years old and has owned the business since he was 19.
A long time goal of Phil was to own a business in his hometown, so when the opportunity to lease the current store at 440 M-15, the jumped at the chance to open a drop-off location.
Erica is a stay-at-home mom to children Kyle, and Lexi. When she’s not at the store Phil’s daughter Stephanie or her boyfriend Brandon Maxey take over the duties.
Phil takes the clothes from the Ortonville store to the main plant in Berkley to be cleaned and pressed. The next day he returns the clothes to the Ortonville location’the next day service is available Monday through Thursday.
While the friendly atmosphere and next day service have been a big part of the successful first year, the lowest prices in the Ortonville area has attracted hundreds of customers.
‘Since we are family owned and operated we have lower expenses which result in a cost savings to our customers,? said Erica.
‘Our biggest draw is probably the men’s shirts which we launder and press for just 99 cents.?
