The Lake Orion boys swimming and diving team finished sixth out of seven teams competiting in the OAA Division I League Meet, held at LOHS on Feb. 24-26.
The Dragons finished with 232 points, just ahead of last-place finisher North Farmington. Birmingham Groves won the meet with 417 points.
Lake Orion’s Pat Dodge finished in second in the 200 freestyle at the league meet, with a final time of 1:45.65, a team record.
Dodge was also third in the 100 freestyle, with a final time of 48.08.
Garrett Ruhland was third in the 50 freestyle, with a time of 21.82, also a team record. Brandon Figurski finished second in the diving competition with 396.65 points in the final.
The Lake Orion 200 freestyle relay team of Ruhland, Andrew Kuehl, Dave Brown and Dodge finished first with 1:27.89 as their final time. The 400 freestyle relay team of the same swimmers placed second with a time of 3:13.79.
Rounding out the team scoring were second place Birmingham Seaholm (335 points), third place Bloomfield Hills Andover (312), fourth place Lahser (267), and fifth place Troy (264).
Lake Orion competes at the MHSAA Diving Regionals on March 8 at Eastern Michigan University,
The MSHAA State Meet is scheduled for March 11 at EMU.
