Despite an 0-7 record, the Oxford Wildcats Varsity Boys Basketball team continues to play close games.
On Friday, Jan.14 the Cats played a competitive game against Linden, but just couldn’t close the door on their losing streak.
They were defeated 63-60.
‘They played a great game, but just couldn’t get it done,? said Head Coach Steve Laidlaw.
A nice overtime basket by senior Brandon McKay just wasn’t enough against Linden who out scored the Cats 9-6 in OT. McKay scored 11 points overall.
Junior Bill Keenist led in scoring points with 18, senior Colin Keener added 9, and junior Mark Willar pulled through with 6.
The next game is 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21 on home court against Holly.
