Music lovers have only one more chance to partake in this year’s Concert in the Park series on July 28. Closing the six-week summer concert series is the big band sound of the Stardust Swing Band.
The 14-member band will play songs made popular in the 1930’s and ?40s. The group incorporates rhythm, saxophone, trombone, trumpet and vocal sections; and combines them to take audiences back in time to the era of swing and big band.
The group has peformed together for the last four years and was featured as the main act of the closing concert in last year’s series.
The performance marks the final concert in the series that began in June with Blackthorn. Despite rain weather one weekend, crowds have filled Depot Park consistently to hear a variety of music.
The concert runs from 7-9 p.m. at Depot Park. The Concerts in the Park series is a free summer music program presented annually by the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce.
