Zelenak considered for Holly Village Manager

Ortonville- Current Village Manager Paul Zelenak is now the frontrunner for the position of Holly Village Manager.
Village of Holly interim manager Tom Daily said that following a council vote on Dec. 14, Zelenak could be offered the position which has been open since July.
‘Of the 52 applications for the position, Zelenak was second and will now be considered for the managers position after the number one candidate dropped out,? said Daily, a retired Wayne, Mich. city manager.
‘It’s the council’s choice, but from my personal standpoint I’d be glad to see Paul come aboard if he chooses.?
Zelenak had two interviews with the Village of Holly in October and November.
He refused comment regarding the position.
Zelenak, 41, has been Ortonville village manager since October 2001, and replaced Pete Auger who accepted a similar position in Davison. Zelenak previously served 13 years with the administration at the City of Rochester Hills.
The Village of Holly is located in northwestern Oakland County and has a population of about 6,200. The position pays about $65,000 to $70,000, said Daily, and opened when Holly Village Manager Tom Ault accepted a new position in Ohio. He had served about two years.
‘I was authorized by my council to call Paul and see if he still had interest in the position,? said Peter Clemens, Village of Holly council president. ‘He does still have interest in the position and will be considered at the next meeting.?
