A local dental office was robbed over the weekend and it’s no laughing matter despite what was stolen.
The thief or thieves took nothing from Oxford Family Dentistry (950 S. Lapeer Rd.) except one tank of nitrous oxide ? commonly known as laughing gas.
On Monday, a dental employee arriving at work realized the rear door had been forced open and there was no electricity in the office.
Oakland County Sheriff’s reports indicated the door had been pried open with a lever and the electrical box ripped from the outside wall.
The only thing missing from the office was a nitrous oxide tank and respirator.
When representatives from a tank supply company were contacted by sheriff’s investigators, they said a similar crime occurred a few days earlier in White Lake. Although the robbers snooped through desk drawers, in both cases the office cash was left untouched.
Sheriff’s reports indicate there were no witnesses to the break-in. The office was searched and finger-printed by investigators.
