4-inning shut down

Lady Hitters beat West Bloomfield in both of their double-header games last Wednesday.
“The game was played really nice,” said Clarkston Girls Varsity Softball Head Coach Don Peters.
The girls got the first game going in the fourth inning by bringing in four runs and won the game 4-0.
Megan Hastings hit a triple and another hit from teammate Sarah Altene brought her home while Altene ran to second base for her double. Shauna Siwicki and Hastings hit 2-for-3. The Lady Wolves won the second game, 4-1. Liz Zezula and Hasting hit a double for the game. Rachel Alli hit 2-for-3.
“Their pitcher threw pretty hard,” said Peters. “We got a few clutch hits and that is critical against hard pitchers.”
Megan Hastings had 14 strikeouts in the first game and Sam Hoeksema had 11 strikeouts in the second game.
“Our pitchers were working well for them,” said Peters. “The girls made some nice defensive plays behind them and had clutch hitting.”
The girls have a 19-4 record going into this week.
They play at Oxford on Wednesday in a double header league game. It is the first time the girls have seen them for an OAA game, the Lady Wildcats joined the league this year.
“We will find out on Wednesday what happens,” said Peters.
Then, head to the University of Michigan tournament on Saturday.
“We did quite well last year we were runner up,” said Peters. “We look forward to open up again Milan. It should be a good measuring stick for us.?
