Youth charged with felonious assault against staff member

A 17-year-old male at Crossroads for Youth was arrested on Sept. 26 by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department after supposedly threatening a staff member with a board with nails sticking out of it.
According to the sheriff’s report, a Crossroads For Youth (CFY) Girl’s Center employee heard rocks being thrown at windows of center’s building. She states that when she went outside to see who was there, she ‘observed five truants outside the building.?
The CFY employee told officers that when she asked the youths to return to their buildings, one of the youths picked up the board and handed it to the 17-year-old suspect. At this point, she claims the suspect threatened her with the object.
The CFY employee continues stating that she was surrounded and again threatened by the youths.
The responding sheriff’s deputies, Baldwin and Willyard, arrived on the scene in time to see the five youths fleeing the Girl’s Center area. The two deputies were able to catch the five suspects before the youths even left the CFY grounds.
The Crossroads for Youth employee agreed to press charges against the youth who supposedly threatened her with a board. Officers arrested the suspect and charged him with felonious assault with other weapon.
