Oxford High School’s swim and dive team came away with a disappointing 126-59 loss at the hands of Fenton, but the event provided encouraging results for the Wildcats.
Allison Woonton took first place in the 200-Yard Individual Medley, setting a new school record with a time of two minutes and 23.91 seconds. She broke her own record, set in 2006, of 2:24.13.
Woonton almost broke another as she finished first in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:06.79’just a second and a half off her school record.
Because of this performance, Woonton will be competing at the Oakland County Meet on October 3 at Lake Orion High School.
‘I am looking forward to going to the county tournament again this year, but my ultimate goal is to represent Oxford at the state meet in November,? Woonton said.
