At noon, May 3, the Ortonville Woman’s Club will host its Annual Woman’s Club Fashion Show and Luncheon at St. Anne Catholic Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville. Tickets will be available for $8. Raffle tickets for the $100, $75, $50 and $25 cash prizes will also be available. The raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
‘This is our major fundraiser for the scholarship fund,? said Rose Marie Paetsch, OWC public relations director. ‘All proceeds from the raffle and fashion show luncheon will fund scholarships for Brandon High School seniors. In 2011 the OWC provided five scholarships to seniors in the Brandon district.?
Since 1905 the OWC has hosted a fashion show funding scholarships for area students.
‘When the program started the scholarship were just for girls, to be nurses and teachers,? she added. ‘But times have changed’now there’s no career requirement and it’s open to boys, too.?
Club members model a variety of apparel provided by Holly based Creative Fashions. The makeup and nails and hair provided by First Impressions of Ortonville. The public is invited.
