Clarkston’s girls and boys track teams both notched wins against Pontiac Northern on a cold and windy afternoon on April 25.
The girls team dispatched the Huskies 75-54 while the boys team triumphed 70-58.
For the girls, the 3200 relay team of Nicole Kraus, Lisa Sickman, Gillian Nordquist and Elle Kuhta were victorious with a time of 13:26. Also placing first for Clarkston were Jenny Morgan in the 1600, Beth Hoekstra in the 800, Kuhta in the 3200 run, and Lauren Frank in the discus and shot put.
The boys were led by Jake Meissnest, who won the discus and shot put events. Also finishing in first for the boys were the 800 relay team of Nick DeVault, Brad Gale, Pedro Matos and Greg Knappe; Matt Inch won the 3200; Chris Anderson won the 800; Hazen Brennan won the 1600; and Gale won the 110 hurdles.
The Wolves meet on May 3 at the Clarkston Middle School track against West Bloomfield finished too late for this edition of The Clarkston News.
The boys and girls track teams will split from one another to attend weekend tournaments. On May 7, the girls will travel to Ohio for the Mitchell Roosevelt Invitational and the boys will take part in the Ashley relays at Waterford Mott. Both teams will return to the CMS track on May 10 to face Rochester High.
