Wireless Toyz

You insure your home.
You insure your automobile.
You insure you health and life.
So why not insure your cell phone or PDA?
Wireless Toyz, with convenient locations in Oxford and Orion, now offers an exclusive handset replacement program that covers your PDA’s, Treo’s, Balckberry’s, cell phones (both unlocked and prepaid) and aircards purchased there.
A simple onetime payment of $60, $79 or $99 ? depending on the retail value of the phone or other handset device ? can cover your device against accidental breakage or damage, loss, theft or water damage.
There’s no deductible and no monthly charge.
A $60 payment covers a phone with a retail value of $0 to $225. A $79 plan covers a phone with a $226 to $400 retail value. And a $99 payment covers phones with retail values of $401 or more.
You’re covered for either one full year or one covered claim. Replacement includes a brand new handset, battery and accessories (everything that’s included in the phone box when you purchased it).
‘You’ll never be without a phone here,? said Joey Manni, who manages the Oxford and Orion Wireless Toyz stores with his brothers Richie and Franki. ‘Even if you’re waiting on approval, we’ll set you up with loaner phone.?
Compare with other wireless carriers through which enrollment in their insurance plan can take up to a week and can only be done within 30 days of activation; there’s a $50 or more deductible; the replacement phone is used and shipped within 3 to 5 days; and coverage levels vary.
At Wireless Toyz, enrollment is immediate and can be done within 90 days of activation (with proof of purchase); there’s no deductible; the replacement phone is brand new and shipped with 24 to 72 hours; and whether it’s lost, stolen or suffered water damage, you’re covered in any event.
Only Wireless Toys provides its customers with the broadest protection you can have.
Wireless Toyz offers all the major wireless carriers including Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, Cingular and Verizon Wireless. Prepaid cellular services from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile are also available.
With 70 to 80 different styles of phones (including Motorola, Sanyo, Samsung and Nokia) in a wide variety of colors and a complete line of accessories such as cases, chargers and wireless earpieces from Bluetooth, Wireless Toyz is truly the Oxford/Orion area’s one-stop cellular shopping experience.
All this diversity of product and service means Wireless Toyz sales representatives can find what best suits customers? needs as opposed to selling them something that don’t really want or need because of a limited selection, according to Manni.
‘We’re working for the customer,? he said. ‘If we don’t have a product, we do whatever it takes to get it for the customers right away.?
Manni said the big demand right now is for PDA’s and Wireless Toyz has many including Sidekicks, Blackberry’s, Treo 700, Samsung I-730 with Verizon Wireless service and the Pocket PC 6700 with Sprint service.
Many PDA’s are now ‘windows operated,? which means the ‘menu on your phone screen is just like on your computer,? according to Manni.
Manni said PDA’s are so popular now because it allows people to step out of the office and still have ‘total access? via e-mail, text messages and internet. ‘It’s like having a computer in the palm of your hand,? he said. ‘You can be on the golf course and still take care of business.?
Other items growing in popularity include wireless PC cards (or ‘aircards?) which allow laptop users access to the internet everywhere in most major cities and freeways.
Manni said Sprint and Verizon Wireless offer aircards that give users unlimited internet access for $59 per month.
Unlimited access and wireless technology equal one things for users ? more freedom!
Ultra thin and light phones such as ‘The Blade? (Samsung 900) and ‘The Razor? (Motorola V3) are in high demand right now.
Don’t let their tiny sizes fool you. Manni said ‘The Blade? has Sprint service, an MP3 player and video picture option ? ‘it does everything.?
For people who like to talk in the car, Bluetooth offers a hands-free system which enables users to listen to calls through the car’s speakers or even download music and listen while driving.
‘Most of the new Chryslers have it,? Manni said.

Since opening in Lake Orion last March, Wireless Toyz on Lapeer Road has become a complete wireless store, with Cingular recently coming on board as a carrier.
“We now have all the major carriers,” says Joey Manni of Wireless Toyz in Lake Orion. “We also offer pre-paid options, as well as long distance and pre-paid cellular phone cards.”
Wireless Toyz is a nationwide chain, and the Lake Orion store, operated by brothers Joey, Richie and Frank Manni, is one of 60 stores nationwide.
The Manni brothers owned two Cingular stores prior to coming to Wireless Toyz, so they know their products well.
Because of their knowledge of the market place, they recently started selling Blackberrys, Treos and T-Mobile Sidekicks, which are becoming a more popular option to the traditional cell phone.
They also offer a variety of cellular phones, including camera and video phones.
“The industry is going towards your phone being more like a computer,” says Joey Manni. “If you are out golfing, you can pull out your phone and take care of business as if you were at the office.”
Shopping at Wireless Toyz as opposed to just one carrier’s store is of advantage to the customer, because they can find a phone and a plan that is really tailored to fit their needs.
“We ask you the questions, and find the best product available for you,” explains Manni. “Sometimes customers aren’t sure what they really need, and for some people it might be better to go with a contract.”
Wireless Toyz offers a variety of plans, both contract and pre-paid.
“You can now deposit $50, and up to $400, for a phone,” says Manni. “That’s good for someone who is just starting to build their credit.”
Returning customers can also upgrade their phones at Wireless Toyz, and Manni says the store has seen a lot of repeat business.
“One of the best plans we have right now is from Sprint, the Fair and Flexible plan,” he says. “It includes only five cents a minute for overage, instead of the usual 40 cents, as well as instant rebates.”
Wireless Toyz also offers a number of Bluetooth products, and adapters so that customers can use them with non-Bluetooth phones.
“We are going to be offering a wireless ear piece that has caller ID right on the ear piece,” says Manni. “You will be able to use that from up to 30 feet from the actual phone.”
Manni says Bluetooth technology is giving cell phone users the option to do a lot of things wirelessly.
“We’re always finding out what’s new and getting hands-on experience with it before we offer it to the customer,” Manni says. “From our own experience, we can tell you what phone has a good battery life, and good reception.
“We can really recommend what we think is going to work out the best for the customer,” he says.
Nextel at Wireless Toyz also offers free incoming plans, which allow customers to get rid of their home phones and keep their home number for their new wireless phone.
“That helps get rid of some of the telemarketers,” Manni says. “It used to take a month to transfer the number, now it only takes 24 hours to two weeks to switch it over.”
Wireless Toyz offers regular promotions, and advertises these “hot deals” in The Advertiser. Right now, while supplies last, they are offering a new pre-paid phone for $39 with 60 minutes that are good for one year, and a year warranty.
Wireless Toyz is located at 325 S. Broadway (N. Lapeer Road), next to Applebee’s. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
The phone number is (248) 814-8888. Wireless Toyz is online at www.wirelesstoyz.com.
