Even though temperatures are hovering in the 90s, the Village of Lake Orion is already getting ready for when the snow flies.
The village’s winter maintenance agreement with the Road Commission for Oakland County was approved at the July 25 council meeting.
The RCOC will continue to pay the village to take care of snow and ice control on Bellevue from Heights north to the village line and on Central from Indianwood east to the east subdivision limit of Lake Orion Groves subdivision.
Last year the rate was $3,005.07 per mile. This year it’s $3,065.17.
Winter agreement OK
As in the past, the Road Commission for Oakland County will be paying the Village of Lake Orion to take care of snow and ice control on small areas of two roads.
The areas include on Bellevue from Heights north to the village line and on Central from Indianwood east to the east limit of Lake Orion Groves subdivision.
Last year the rate was $2,860.34 per mile. This year it’s $2,946.15 per mile, an increase of $85.81 per mile.
