Junior pitcher Kyle Teague allowed five hits and struck out 10 in a losing effort on the mound. Senior Brandon Dugan collected the only hit in the first inning.
The Dragons? pitcher, Josh Deeg, threw a one-hit shut-out to win the district title.
‘Our senior leadership was outstanding all year and Oxford should be very proud of this group and how they represented themselves and the community all year,? Coach Kurt Nuss said.
‘I have enjoyed this season tremendously, not only for the accomplishments on the field, but also because we (coaches) got to work with and be around such a group of fine young men each and every day.?
Oxford ended their regular season 27-6 overall.
Several Wildcats collected post-season honors. Those named to the 1st Team-All League are:
n Kyle Teague (junior) ? Flint Metro League’s MVP for 2007 season, Jeremy Bukoski (senior), Brandon Dugan (senior), Vinnie Ives (senior), James McLean (junior), Eric Turk (junior)
Those named to the 2nd Team-All League are:
n Bobby Rhodes (senior) and Russell Luxton (junior)
