Allen organized the ‘shave off? after receiving a commitment from Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard to donate toward breast cancer research, for every person in the department who shaves their head in support of Deputy Allen. In November, Deputy Allen underwent surgery for breast cancer and is currently receiving chemotherapy treatments. ‘My hair started coming out in the drain today, so I’m not jumping the gun on this,? Allen said. Deputies Jones and Spalo said they shaved their heads in support of Jamie, who before working at the Oakland County Warrants Division, was a DARE officer and school liaison in Brandon. Deputy Rheaume said ‘this is not a big deal for us to shave our heads–it’s a big deal for Jamie.?
