The Orion Township Fire Department invited residents and departments from surrounding communities to kick off Fire Prevention Week 2003 on Oct. 5 with an apparatus display at the Orion Township Hall.
Fire trucks from Orion and several other departments were on display, along with vehicles from The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and the North Oakland County Hazardous Materials Response Team.
Children got safety and fire prevention tips, made old time fire trucks, had refreshments and got goodie bags to take home at the event.
