Seven has been a lucky number lately for Oxford’s Jan Heyse.
The retired Pontiac Schools teacher, who is 77, scored her second hole-in-one in 2008 recently at Boulder Creek.
The first ace came on March 17 at Gold Canyon Golf Course in Arizona. She used a seven iron there to get her first hole-in-one in the more than 30 years she has played the game.
She didn’t have to wait another 30 years for the next one when she aced the 8th hole recently at Boulder Creek. This time she used a seven wood.
Jan and husband Bob enjoy golfing together and Bob says his wife is a very good golfer.
Jan, though, says, the two aces were a great surprise.
‘It’s such a fluke,? she said. ‘But, both shots were beautiful.?
Jan said even though her seven iron and seven wood were the lucky clubs, she understands that sevens are not always good.
She bemoaned the fact that she shot a seven recently on one of the holes at Oxford Hills.
Husband Bob said he bought a Lucky 7 lottery ticket recently for his wife but, alas, she did not repeat the luck.
