A two-car crash in front of Oxford Bank on S. Washington St. (M-24) last Thursday backed up traffic for at least a half-hour and sent one driver to the hospital.
A 17-year-old Oxford male driving south his 1989 Pontiac rear-ended a 22-year-old Oxford woman stopped in her 2003 Dodge Stratus. The Dodge was stopped to make a left-turn into Oxford Bank’s parking lot when the driver of the Pontiac failed to stop, crashing into her vehicle from behind.
The woman’s airbag did not deploy. She was transported by ambulance to Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills.
The 17-year-old said he did not see the car ahead of him and was cited for failing to stop in an assured clear distance. He did not sustain any injuries.
