Troy man takes police on a wild ride through township

A 52-year-old Troy man was arrested last Wednesday for taking police on a high-speed chase along several roads in Orion Township.
According to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies were investigating a crash on Indianwood Road, near Joslyn Road, when the man drove through a closed portion of the roadway.
The driver, in a silver BMW, reportedly had blood on his face. After ignoring police orders to stop, he led deputies on a chase along parts of Joslyn, Heights and Pine Tree Roads before stopping at Dollar Bay Drive.
A preliminary breath examination indicated that the man was highly intoxicated. He was transported to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, where a warrant was obtained for a blood draw.
The man had to be handcuffed and tasered in order for police to carry out the blood draw.
He was then lodged at Oakland County Jail, facing potential charges for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, fleeing and eluding police and resisting and obstructing police.
