Christmas tree recycling is available at Independence Oaks and Springfield Oaks county parks.
Self-serve recycling is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Jan. 30 at Independence Oaks, 9501 Sashabaw Road. At Springfield Oaks, 12451 Andersonville Road, recycling is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Jan. 16.
There is no charge to drop off trees. All decorations, plastic, tinsel and wire must be removed. Large quantities from commercial lots will not be accepted. The parks system processes trees to make compost and wood chips, which will be available free to the public.

Tree recycling
The Oakland County Parks will accept Christmas trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1 at several self-serve drop-off sites, including Groveland Oaks near Holly and Addison Oaks near Oxford.
Please remove all decorations from trees. Commercial lot trees will not be accepted.
