Although Oxford’s track teams opened their season with a loss to Fenton, they’re looking forward to future meets.
The boys team ended the meet 47-90, but saw tremendous efforts from all teammates.
In distance events, Kam Mueller dominated the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles, taking first place in both with 15.91 and 42.99 seconds respectively. Nick Collier finished first with 11.7 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
In field events, Sergio Schlak and Russ Francis took third in both the long jump and shot put, while Brent Mueller took second in the pole vault.
The girls team ended the meet 61-72, even though they took first place in many events.
Hannah George won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 2.46 seconds.
Taylor Dewey also took first place in the 800 meter run at 2 minutes, 45.45 seconds.
Oxford girls Tiara Tatarczuk, Jacqui Sylva, Lauren Curtis and Ashlee Eller trampled Fenton in the 800 meter relay with a time of 1 minute, 57.14 seconds.
The track team will face Brandon away April 25.
