Township resident announces candidacy for district judge

Brandon Twp.- Resident and Attorney Fred Miller has announced his intention to run for 52-2 District Court Judge, a position currently held by Dana Fortinberry. ‘I’ve been encouraged by some circuit court judges,? said Miller, 51, when explaining his decision.
‘I work well with people and would like to help with civil and criminal aspects. I believe I can make the court more efficient, do a good job for everybody and save them money.?
The 52-2 District Court serves the communities of Brandon Township, Groveland Township, the Village of Ortonville, Holly Township, Independence Township, Rose Township, Springfield Township, White Lake Township, the City of the Village of Clarkston, and the Village of Holly.
Miller, who needs to collect roughly 600 petition signatures, has a bachelor’s degree in education from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in education from Michigan State University. He was a teacher for a few years before graduating from the University of Detroit Law School in 1987. He has practiced law for 21 years, as both a defense attorney and prosecuting attorney. His law practice also encompasses family and juvenile law, civil litigation, real estate, and estate planning.
Miller has been married to Nancy for five years and he has three children and one grandchild.
