Oakland County’s hazard mitigation plan has been adopted by Orion Township, allowing the township to apply for grants in the event of a natural or technological diaster.
The board received information about the HMP from Gail Novak of Oakland County at the Aug. 1 meeting.
Novak said by adopting the sections of the plan pertaining to Orion, the township would become eligible to apply for federal grants they wouldn’t normally be able to get.
