The Orion Township Public Library (OTPL) hosts The Giving Season: Local Author and Illustrator Fair this Saturday.
More than 20 Metro Detroit authors and illustrators will share their works from 1-4 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the library.
Books for all ages and readers will be available for purchase and signing, and children will also be able to visit with Santa.
Some local favorite such as Bryan Chick, Ruth McNally Barshaw and Jonathan Rand will be sipping hot cocoa and munching on cookies with the public.
“People have been so excited about it and enjoy it so much. We have such great authors in the area and authors that are willing to drive in,” said Kate Kloor, Adult Services Librarian.
Lake Orion author R.L. Herron will also be on hand signing copies of his books and chatting with fans.
In conjunction with The Giving Season: Local Author and Illustrator Fair, the libary will be collecting books for the Good Steward Global Initiative, which helps to alleviate the growing book famine in developing countries.
Good Steward is an all-volunteer program that works to provide children and adults with reading materials by collecting books and sending them to Africa to create libraries.

A collection box will be at the library through Dec. 10 for anyone wishing to donate their books.
