Tire Warehouse opens July 23

Tire Warehouse will hold a grand open house celebration at the new store on Lapeer Road on July 23.
The event will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and is open to the public. There will be family fun, balloons, a pig roast, games, face painting and tours of the new facility.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Tire Warehouse will also strive to raise money through the Lake Orion Lions Club for the Lake Orion Lions Club Bear Lake Visually Impaired Youth Camp. Donations at the event are appreciated.
‘As the Lions Club past president and committee chairman of the Tire Warehouse grand open house, I’m thrilled to join Dan and Jan Clark at their Tire Warehouse family,? said Bill Siver.
‘I thank Tire Warehouse for raising funds for the Lions Club as we strive to help provide financial assistance for class trips, eyeglasses, scholarships and financial aid for the youth camp.?
Tire Warehouse’s new facility is a train depot-themed building with 21,400 square-feet and 21 service bays.
Dan Clark, who founded Tire Warehouse 34 years ago, reflected on his decision to place his new building in a swamp.
‘The community seems to have enjoyed watching the ordeal, especially the sinking of the back-hoe in the swamp,? he said. ‘It wasn’t easy, as anyone can attest, but we’re very happy with how it came out.?
The new facility will enable Tire Warehouse to expand their service offerings to include engine diagnostics, and to assume the entire maintenance needs that traditionally sent vehicle owners back to their dealerships.
Their well-known slogan is ‘Where you leave feeling hugged,? and Tire Warehouse has come a long way and gathered a lot of good friends along the way, said Don Truscott, general manager of 31 years.
‘I’m certain many of our old friends will continue to stop by, chat and grab some coffee,? he said.
Many of their employees have been working at Tire Warehouse for numerous years. In fact, Andy Peters has worked there since he was a young boy, starting as a tire changer.
Peters is now assistant manager with 20 years of experience. He’ll also handle all equipment issues and many other projects for the new building.
The Clark family is one of the eight original families in Lake Orion that dates back to 1836, Dan said.
He and his wife have raised three children in Lake Orion, and the grand opening of Tire Warehouse’s new building exemplifies the type of commitment the Clarks have made to Lake Orion and its residents.
Tire Warehouse’s new facility is located at 250 N. Lapeer Road.
