Three vie for Goodrich school board seats

Goodrich-The school board will have a new look this summer.
After serving one term on the school board, Trustee Jeff Engleman will not seek one of the two four-year terms on the May 5 ballot.
The school board terms begin on July 1.
Incumbent Board President Michael Tripp will seek reelection to the board. Tripp, 52, a Grand Blanc High School graduate has served on the school board for 14 years.
Challenging in the May election will be newcomer and local businessman Jeff Gardner, 39, a 1988 Goodrich High School graduate and district resident for the past 25 years.
Mark Griffiths, 58, a Clarkston High School graduate who has lived in the district for the past 13 years will also vie for one of the two seats.
The new board members will join a new district superintendent following the retirement of Larry Allen in January. The board will seek the assistance of Carl Hartman from Michigan Association of School Boards to conduct the screening process.
Discussion of the superintendent selection will be at 6 p.m., Feb. 23 during the regular board meeting.
