The right club

It’s no wonder why Steve Carson knows golf.
For the past 25 years, the Towanda, Penn. native, Grand Blanc resident, and golf professional has promoted the game he loves through instruction and course management.
Now, Carson brings his expertise to the Goodrich Country Club as the new club manager/golf professional.
‘I’m not only grateful for this opportunity, but excited to be here at Goodrich Country Club,? said Carson. ‘Everyone has been very supportive getting me acclimated with my new position.?
Carson served as the head golf professional at Blackheath Golf Club in Rochester, and for the past four seasons he was the general manager/head golf professional at Copper Ridge in Davison.
‘I’m joining my assistant golf professional from Copper Ridge, Joe Huffman’I’m excited to be reunited with him.
Since starting earlier this spring, Carson has hired a new chef, Jennifer LeVeque, who added a new menu. With a background in catering, LeVeque will be preparing all meals in-house, including theme luncheon and dinner buffets. Check out new lunch specials and Friday night dinner specials.
Golf prices have been lowered for weekends to $25, and weekdays seniors now play for $18. Happy hour is daily from 4-7 p.m.
Carson will be conducting free golf swing seminars over the next few months for anyone that would like to learn the game or fix the swing flaws they may have.
For ages 9-16, the Junior Golf League begins June 24 at 11 a.m. Stop by the pro shop for sign up.
‘The course is in great shape this spring,? said Carson. ‘Stop out and play’it’s hard to find a better deal on a quality course.?
Carson lives with his family in Grand Blanc, cousin Brian and nieces Lauryn, 8 and Ciara, 11.
