Thank you to community, Lions, sponsors for Jubilee support; local charities will benefit

Thank you for the great story and the marvelous photos you featured in the June 28th edition of the Lake Orion Review (“The Carnival Comes to Town,” page 1).

The overall chairman of the event was Jack Patton, and Subra Sunderaswarsh was the co-chair.

Mary Rodgers and Cathi Williams chaired the beer tent, and Bob Erickson headed up the KidSight vision testing during the Jubilee.

I was not the event director. I was just one of the many members of the Lake Orion Lions Club who worked before the event to organize it, and then worked during the event to make sure it was a success.

And it was an enjoyable success for those who attended and participated and for those who are blind or visually impaired or in need who will be able to receive services from the Lake Orion Lions Club.

The Club’s charities — Bear Lake Camp for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Lapeer…Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester…and the Penrickton Center for Blind & Handicapped Children in Taylor — will also benefit from the success of the 2017 Jubilee.

Again, thanks for the great coverage you gave this event.

And a special thanks to the DTE Energy Foundation and Converting Alternatives International who were our Gold Sponsors this year.
