The varsity swimmers improved to 3-1 in the Oakland Activities Association Blue Division play after they defeated Troy Athens 118-68 on Thursday, Oct. 14.
Results are as follows:
200 Medley Relay: Oxford’s A relay of senior captain Jenna Mallard, sophomore Laura Zorle, freshman Haley Kornburger and junior Amanda delaPaz finished first with a time of 2:05.23. The Wildcat B relay of sophomore Caitlyn Wroblewski, freshman Elizabeth Wilkins, junior Brooklyn Allen and sophomore Courtney Lavender were third.
200 Freestyle: Senior captain Sarah Skelton came in first for the Wildcats with a time of 2:16.49. Allen came in third.
200 Individual Medley: Wroblewski came in second for the Wildcats with her personal best time of 2:44.87. Wilkins and sophomore Samantha Kurk were fourth and fifth respectively.
50 Freestyle: delaPaz came in first place for Oxford with her time of 28.00. Junior captain Anna Daves came in second and senior Jasmine Vickery was fourth.
Diving: Oxford swept the diving portion of the competition with senior diver Jade Casadei finishing first with 190.40 points. Senior Kayla Pollard was second and senior Janine Huelsman finished third.
100 Butterfly: Allen came in second for the Wildcats with a personal best time of 1:14.61. Zorle came in third with a personal best time.
100 Freestyle: Kornburger set a school record with her first place time of 55.49. Sophomore Casey Keils came in second and Daves was fourth.
500 Freestyle: The Wildcats finished in the top two spots, with Mallard placing first with a time of 5:52.49 and Skelton coming in second.
200 Freestyle relay. The Wildcats A relay of delaPaz, Daves, Keils and Mallard came in first with a time of 1:55.54 and the B relay of Vickery, Zorle, Lavender and Skelton was third.
100 Backstroke: Kornburger finished first for Oxford with a time of 1:04.30 while Wroblewski and Vickery were third and fourth respectively.
100 Breaststroke: Zorle came in second for Oxford with a personal best time of 1:19.06. Wilkins came in third.
400 Freestyle relay: The A relay of Mallard, delaPaz, Keils and Kornburger finished first with a time of 4:11.82. The B relay of Skelton, Wroblewski, Wilkins and Daves was third.
Oxford moves to 5-2 overall and swims against Southfield Lathrup on Thursday, Oct. 21.
