Springfield Plains Elementary students took their positions on the grass for their cool-down. It was the biggest Yoga class anyone had seen – with 572 kids getting into a mountain pose.
The students had completed their first A.C.E.S day – All Children Exercise Simultaneously around the nation at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday in May.
The school had special visitors to help out for the exercises – Pete Gallagher, assistant coach for the Clarkston Varsity Football team and head coach for the boys varsity golf team, high school athletes, and Clarkston mascot, Wolfie (who also did his yoga for the day.)
Gallagher pointed out it was important to stay fit – mentally and physically a it prepares both the mind and the body. Both help on the athletic field as well as in the classroom.
