Brandon Twp.- A 15-year-old Brandon High School female student was officially charged last week with making a bomb threat at the school.
The charge comes after school officials, along with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, identified a suspect and sought a warrant package in connection with a threat of violence at Brandon High School on Thursday, April 26. A bomb threat received at the high school at approximately 12:30 p.m. that day forced the evacuation of the school. The individual was suspended, released to her parents and is currently attending another school.
‘The type of punishment will be up to the judge,? said Arnie Terrell, Oakland County Sheriff’s Detective and Brandon Schools liaison officer. ‘The important thing is the children are safe. We hope others will understand the severity of the crime.?
The threat was written in pencil on a girl’s bathroom wall at the high school and reported to school officials. Handwriting analysis was used to identify the suspect following a search and assessment of many students? homework and class assignments.
