Junior Emma Timms played a major role in the Lake Orion girls finishing in second-place in the 2021 Wildcat Diving Invitational at Oxford High School on September 18.
Turning in a new personal-best score, Timms’ performance in the 11-dive event was a 70-point improvement over her sophomore year.
Girls’ swimming and diving head coach Haley Kornburger pointed to the divers as an area on the team that has emerged as a strength this season. Timms has been leading the charge in this aspect and shared what her favorite moment has been thus far this year, plus her focus moving forward as the team nears the postseason.
“My favorite thing that happened was probably the meet at Berkley (on September 9) because that was my high score for all of diving and I did a new dive there, so that was exciting,” she said.
Outside of her time on the diving board, Timms enjoys spending time with her family and friends and drawing.
Looking ahead to her post-high school plans, she has always wanted to attend Michigan State University in East Lansing, with the intent to study Orthodontics.
